No frills, easy to use and maintain, warm mist. I'm not sure about the automatic shut off because the light remains on, so I'm afraid to take a chance (I had a neighbor come into my apartment and shut if off when I forgot). I had a very expensive model before and it was way too complicated and you always had to buy their special sponges. When I decided to try one of my own sponges, it literally burned and melted.
